Review of Speech and Language : Advances in Basic Research and Practice

A review of five diagnostic aphasia batteries, spanning the 1960s to 1980, presents the primary aspects of each test and its underlying conceptual framework, if that was a consideration in its construction. Reliability and validity measures for each test as well as other psychometric properties are discussed. Although not diagnostic batteries per se, Tikofsky has included a review of CommunicatilJe ActilJities in Daily LilJing (Holland) and some information on the Functional Communication Profile (Taylor). The latter two instruments evaluate functional communication.
